Scaling Sundarijal and Shivapuri

Seeing nature as it really is

This week marked the beginning of the Rangjung Yeshe Institute Seminar, a two week long period of dharma teachings from great Tibetan teachers like Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and Phakchok Rinpoche. With this going on everyday of the week, a lot of class time has been put on hold—opening up more free time for adventure!

On one weekend, I traveled one-hour by bicycle with my Nepali friend Raju to Sundarijal, a breathtaking escape with incredible waterfalls all around. Fun fact, Sundarijal actually means "beautiful waterfall" in Nepali...it's definitely fitting.

I also traveled out to Shivapuri National Park with some of my school friends to trek up to a small Buddhist stupa. It was about a three-hour hike up to the top and the view we found was worth every step.
