If you read my Week 6 post about shopping for street children on behalf of the Rangjung Yeshe Shenpen for the Dashain holidays, you may have caught a glimpse of the incredible social justice work going on at my school. As a non-profit social work organization formed by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche in 2004, Shenpen, has helped over 29,000 people and 5,000 animals living around the Boudhanath community. For the past ten years, Shenpen's work has spanned six areas: animals, education, elderly, health, skills training, and street children. This week, I was asked to help capture Shenpen's work in video for the Shenpen 10-year Anniversary Celebration held at my school. The event brought together hundreds of people around the community to which we all watched the following video I helped put together! I hope you like it.
